Exercise Design & Development (K0139) – Virtual

July 19, 2021 @ 8:00 am - July 22, 2021 @ 12:00 pm

Hosted by Washington Emergency Management Division (EMD) and FEMA Region X, this virtual, 4-day course is designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of exercise design and to prepare you to design/conduct exercises consistent with the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) doctrine.

The tools provided in this course when applied to exercise design will assist the exercise planning team in the delivery of exercise products that convey the scope, goals, and objectives of the exercise to all participants. The exercise deliverables covered in this course help convey priorities established by an organization’s leaders. Those priorities are based on the Core Capabilities outlined in the National Preparedness Goal, internal strategy documents, threat and hazard identification/risk assessment processes, capability assessments, and the after-action reports from previous exercises and real-world events.
