A strong, robust and coordinated healthcare community is essential during emergencies. Since 2005, the Northwest Healthcare Response Network (the Network) has led a healthcare coalition, which is an affiliation of private and public partners working together to prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies.
In any kind of emergency, our communities need the healthcare system to take care of them. We work regionally and collaboratively to bring together the many separate pieces of the healthcare system so that local responders have more capacity to take care of their communities. We work with county emergency leaders, healthcare providers and other experts to develop the plans that will save lives in a disaster. We also have a community-wide approach to practicing those plans. And when a disaster or emergency happens, we provide critical connections among healthcare, public health, government and emergency response partners – so communities can recover and healthcare can focus on patient care when it matters most. We strive to meet our goals by working together as a coalition, remaining agile and taking initiative to remove obstacles.
The Network is a nonprofit corporation and 501(c)(3) organization.
