SUMMARY:L0950 NIMS ICS All-Hazards Incident Commander
DESCRIPTION:Course Description\nThis course provides local- and state-level emergency responders with a robust understanding of the duties\, responsibilities\, and capabilities of an effective Incident Commander (IC) on an All-Hazards Incident Management Team (AHIMT). These responsibilities fall into two categories: 1) responding to the incident and command needs of the incident\, and 2) effectively fulfilling the position responsibilities of an IC on an All-Hazards ICS IMT. Exercises\, simulations\, discussions\, and a final exam enable participants to process and apply their new knowledge. \nCourse Objectives\nDemonstrate\, through exercises and a final exam\, an understanding of the duties\, responsibilities\, and capabilities of an effective Incident Commander. \nTarget Audience\nNIMS ICS All-Hazards training should be completed by personnel who are regularly assigned to Functional\, Support\, or Unit Leader positions on Type 3 or 4 AHIMTs\, or by those persons who desire to seek credentials/certification in those positions. \nPrerequisites\n• IS-100.b Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS)\n• IS-200.b ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents\n• IS-700.a National Incident Management System\n• IS-800.b National Response Framework\, An Introduction\n• ICS-300 Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents\n• ICS-400 Advanced ICS for Command and General Staff \nApply at: https://mil.wa.gov/form/wa-emd-state-course-application \nBe prepared to provide a completed FEMA Application Form 119 and copies of your prerequisite course completion certificates\, at a later date. \nIMPORTANT MESSAGE: Applications for this course are reviewed 4-6 weeks prior to the course date.
