SUMMARY:AWR-336 Health Sector Emergency Preparedness (HSEP)
DESCRIPTION:The purpose of this course is to provide healthcare providers and suppliers with training in achieving the four core emergency preparedness elements outlined in the September 2016 Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Emergency Preparedness Requirements for Medicare and Medicaid Participating Providers and Suppliers Rule. \nThe course provides instruction\, guided discussion\, best practice tools\, and resources for the conduct of a risk assessment; the development of an emergency plan; the development of associated policies and procedures; the creation of a communications plan; and the training and testing of the plans\, policies and procedures. \n\nDetermine requirements for a specific supplier or provider in accordance with CMS Emergency Preparedness Requirements for Medicare and Medicaid Participating Providers and Suppliers Rule (Final Rule).\nDetermine requirements and considerations for conducting a health sector risk assessment in accordance with the best practices and Comprehensive Preparedness Guide 201: Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment Guide.\nDetermine requirements and considerations for developing an emergency preparedness plan in accordance with Comprehensive Preparedness Guide 101: Developing and Maintaining Emergency Operations Plans.\nHSEP POI 1.0 2\nDetermine requirements and considerations for creating emergency preparedness policies and procedures for a health sector facility consistent with emergency planning principles and best practices.\nDetermine requirements and considerations for creating a communication plan for a health sector facility consistent with emergency planning principles and best practices.\nDetermine requirements and considerations for creating the emergency preparedness training and testing (exercising) for a health sector facility consistent with emergency planning principles and best practices.\n\n\n\nYou must have a FEMA SID number before you can apply for the class.
