August 16, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 1:00 pm on Monday, repeating until November 1, 2021

Hosted by Project ECHO

Join your colleagues in EMS, law enforcement, and healthcare from around the nation for our first-of-its-kind program based on real cases and situations generated by COVID-19. Learn techniques to manage self-care and increase resiliency and capacity during this crisis. Share best practices and receive support from peers, physicians, and mental health experts.

The First Responder program additionally aims to stem rising rates of post-traumatic stress disorder, compassion fatigue, depression and suicide among paramedics, firefighters and law enforcement. Session topics include patient care around opioid use and chronic pain as well as personal resiliency and self-care, healthy communication and debriefs after trauma, and other relevant mental health topics.

The First Responder ECHO hub team includes three psychiatrists an emergency room physician, a pain doctor, and an expert paramedic. These and additional subject matter experts from across the nation, share EMS best practices, technical knowledge, and protocols.

Registration info: Please ensure that the time zone is Pacific Time.
