The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), in coordination with the Seattle University and the Seattle Police Department, is offering a Active Shooter Preparedness Workshop at Seattle University on January 16, 2020 in Seattle, WA. For additional details, please review the attachments which include more information and registration procedures.
Course Description: This workshop is designed to enhance preparedness against active shooter incidents through:
- Developing an Emergency Action Plan with guidance from expert instructors
- Identifying strengths, weaknesses, and gaps in physical security and planning considerations via break-out sessions
- Learning how to prevent active shooter incidents by recognizing behavioral indicators on the pathway to violence
- Understanding the history of significant active shooter incidents through survivor stories and expert perspectives
Target Audience: This course is intended for corporate and facility security professionals from the private and public sectors, supervisory first responders, human resource managers, community response officials, and homeland security representatives. Seating availability is limited to 2 seats per organization; additional attendees will be approved on a case-by-case basis.
